Self taught? I have to ask then. By what process did you improve yourself. How did you practise?
Your work is really amazing. And the rate of improvement even more so.
Haha, I'm jealous.

Thank you very much. :)

Your question brings me back memories, i'll tell you an anecdote:
I started drawing in Traditional Art, warplanes and tanks in school notebooks.
I admired many illustrators of my country, illustrating TCG (trading card game), I wanted to be as good as them.
In 2009 I had my first "PC" and "PenTablet" I try to contact the illustrators, one by one to, learn and ask: how do you illustrate that great?, How do the effects last?, but I received no response, I was disappointed. I assumed they were too busy to respond.

Until that time went on, I investigated tutorial, I used Photoshop (trial and error), and I realized that what they do is very easy, is knowing how to draw, using references to not err, use Photoshop filters, layer options, brushes with different texture tip and... is that all ?; yes, that's all... The illustrators I admired, They not cost them anything to tell me back then...I had to wait more than five years to find out.

I realized one thing, you know because I was not told? "It is not for lack of time", it is fear, fear to reveal their tricks and secrets of digital art, not to be overcome and replaced ... are just a bunch of selfish, that deny knowledge to people who want to learn.

PS: sorry my bad Inglés, currently i possess a basic level, and helped me with "google translator".

I never thought the process could be that straightforward.
Very interesting. I think I have some research to do ^^.
Time to find some good brushes and filters.

Thank you very much for sharing!
